Today is World Teachers’ Day – a day to celebrate teachers and the central role they play in guiding children, youth, and adults through the life-long learning process. If there is a profession in the world that deserves our appreciation, it is teaching. It cannot be denied that a teacher’s role in a student’s life lasts long beyond the classroom.
Today, over 100 countries will be celebrating World Teachers’ Day, and collaboratively we will show them our appreciation. We will celebrate them for their hard work and dedication in educating children with knowledge they will use for the rest of their lives. We will commemorate them for influencing children in a positive way mentally, socially, and emotionally.
Education is one of our five main project areas for Mocha Club. We don’t think that where you are born should determine your opportunities in life. Our project work ranges from schools for orphans in Sunyani, Ghana, to a job training center in Cape Town, South Africa, to a vocational-technical school in the slums of Kibera, Kenya, to a primary school in the war-torn region of Northern Uganda.
We also have many Mocha Club members who are teachers! We salute all of you today – for your heart to teach children here in the U.S. and to share your resources to help the people of Africa.
Are you a teacher? Email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out ways you and your class can celebrate teachers around the world and support our Education projects in Africa.
