Meet Lauren. Lauren is a Mocha Club intern/volunteer/family member. She is also the nanny for Addison Road when they are on tour. We thought it would be fun for you to get the inside view from someone who loves music, the road, Mocha Club, and Addison Road.
Here’s a quick introduction from Lauren:
Who am I?
That’s a good question. I’m still figuring that one out, but I’ll tell you what I know for sure. I’m Lauren. I’m 21 and I love flowers, coffee, Nahsville, music, and Africa. I intern/volunteer/kind of work for Mocha Club when I’m not nannying… we’ll get to that in just a minute. Moving on…
Why Mocha Club?
Uh, why not? Right? But honestly, for me, it just fell into place. It was one hundred percent divinely orchestrated. I moved to Nashville 3 years ago to go to Belmont University, where through a series of events I met MC’s Artist Representative, Missy McElroy. I moved to Nashville to learn about the music business, and had always had an interest in Africa & missions, but after spending a lot of time with Missy and the MC team, it became a passion. I traveled to Africa a year and a half ago and it changed my life. Being at Mocha Club allows me to make my totally out there dreams of working to help Africa & also in the music business, somehow make complete sense.
Why Addison Road?
It’s really funny how this all fits together. I met Addison Road through an MC staff member because they’re one of our fabulous artists who work hard to sustain lives in Africa. When Addison Road was in the studio recording their most recent album, Stories, Jenny (lead singer) sent out a mass email asking if anyone knew a good babysitter in town to keep their little girl Anniston. Just so happens Missy went to college with Jenny and was on that list. I’m a babysitter/nanny and my name got passed along to Jenny. Ta-da! She called me 10 minutes later and asked me to come. Really, she bribed me with cupcakes, but it worked. That was in January, and now I’m on my second tour with them and they feel like family. They’re passionate people with huge hearts. I’m honored to work for them and call them my friends.
So, in a nutshell, that’s my story! I’m excited to be blogging about our tour adventures, so stay tuned for more inside scoop!
