I can remember being a little kid and all I wanted to do was be like my heroes. Of course, in my generation and the fact that I was a girl, my heroes were along the lines of Disney characters or the Powerpuff Girls, but if I had had the chance to be a hero like them, I would have taken it. Today, children all around the United States are going to be able to have that chance. Thanks to DC Entertainment and several nonprofits, kids will be able to partner up with the Justice League and help save lives in East Africa. How cool is that?

The campaign “We Can Be Heroes” was started as a joint campaign between DC Entertainment, Time Warner, Inc, Save the Children, the International Rescue Committee, and Mercy Corps. This campaign aims to use the Justice League and their comic books to help raise awareness and funds for the hunger crisis in East Africa. The aim is to raise $2 million dollars in the next two years through running ads online, in comics, on TV, and through special merchandise.

I mean how cool is this? Justice League+ Africa=WIN

  1. What an awesome idea. I’m excited to see the campaign play out over the next couple years. I mean who doesn’t want to be a superhero?
