Mocha Club has helped fund the new primary at Village of Hope! We’re so excited to share about the groundbreaking with you…as YOU helped make it possible!
Last month, our partners at Village of Hope in Gulu, Uganda broke ground and said a prayer of dedication for the building of a new primary school! Workers have already begun laying the foundation. We are so thankful for the opportunity to fund this project. The
compound includes a training
center, clinic, nursery school,
flushable latrines, cook house, 23
huts, a fish pond, and two boreholes.
Students of the nursery school who will go to the primary school next school year
The Village of Hope cares for women who were abducted by LRA Rebels during the war. They receive counseling,
vocational skills and adult literacy training in a Christ
centered program. Our partners at Village of Hope recognized a need for a
nursery school for the children of these women who
were born while they were captives of the rebels. The
women are able to attend classes while their children
are in school. The schools are also open to the community.
We will look for
children who have no financial means to attend school
or have been denied access to education. Due to the
years of war trauma, most children in Gulu have behavior
and emotional issues.
