I joined Mocha Club thanks to the one and only Dave Barnes. I had the pleasure of working his merch table a couple of times back in high school, and he always had a table set up for something called the Mocha Club right next to his merchandise. Long story short, I decided to look into it and my heart just started to scream at me, telling me to join and to be a part of this amazing organization. I’ve stuck around for almost 4 years now because of how much it has touched my heart. $7 doesn’t seem like a lot of money but it adds up and I’d like to think I’ve made a difference in the lives of others. I had the opportunity to travel to Ethiopia with Mocha Club and it did nothing but confirm my love for this wonderful organization. My life was forever changed on that trip and I think about it every day. I volunteer because I feel that having experience is inspiring to others. If I can look back and say that I joined Mocha Club for a reason that day that I signed up, then I want others to look back and be able to say the same thing, simply because I talked to them and was able to tell them all about my experiences and how much the monthly donation can really do and what it can eventually turn into. I want to inspire people just like other Mocha Club volunteers inspired me.
