Happy October from the Fall Interns!
We’ve been super busy over at the Mocha Club, so I thought I’d give you guys a little peek into what we’ve been up to! The past few weeks have been pretty crazy with all the different events we’ve had going on. It feels like the land of never-ending sign-ups here with all the new members we’ve gotten from the Jimmy Needham and Matt Wertz tours that are currently in progress, plus some exciting new sign ups from the STORY and Influence Conferences that Fallon and Marisa just attended (but we’re not complaining; we love it).
Since INA (I Need Africa) 2.0 launched, we’ve been sending out our new merch like crazy. I’ve had a lot of fun packing orders and writing little thank you notes (with a doodle of a steaming coffee cup, if you’re lucky) to all of our lovely members and customers. In addition to that, we’ve been getting more organized in our new space and giving the office a makeover. This past Wednesday I went a little “Bob the Builder” for about an hour building some new shelves to put merch in. It’s not as easy as it looks, and there was definitely some blood, sweat, and tears involved, but it was all worth it in the end. I then put all of our current merch out in size order. I’m pretty proud… You can check out some before and after shots below!
We’ve also been working on spreading Purpose Project to other college campuses and talking about starting some new campus rep initiatives! We have about a trillion and a half ideas and can’t wait to share them with all of you.
In other news, Marisa and Fallon did some awesome things at the conferences they attended. First, they traveled to Chicago for STORY Conference, a gathering for creatives, and set up a booth with some of our new INA gear, free coffee, and a raffle for a guitar signed by Ellie and Drew Holcomb (who were also playing at the conference). STORY was a fantastic platform to share our own Mocha Club story, and we were so grateful to have gotten the exposure and opportunity to network with so many great people! The next week, they traveled to Indianapolis for Influence Conference to meet with some fantastic bloggers. At this conference, Marisa and three awesome Purpose Project veterans shared about Purpose Project & how bloggers can join in to use their voice and platform to make a difference in Africa.
This past month has definitely been an eventful one, and it’s been an incredible process to be a part of. Sam, Jenny, Matt, Fallon, Marisa and I met today for our “Friday Funday” at a nearby coffee shop where we got to talk about some new exciting upcoming projects & products (more on that soon) and catch up on everything we’ve been doing. We’re all so glad to be here and can’t believe how fast it feels like time’s flying, but stay tuned; we’ll have much more to come.
Until next time!
Love and blessings,
